The back sides of things have always been important to me. I don’t know why but I like to flip over menus and see the back, I check out the back of business cards, I know what advertiser is on the back of a magazine (that’s considered cover four and goes for a premium price) and I will not buy a car unless the back end is adorable–my 1991 white Honda Prelude was the best.
So when it came to building our house, a decent looking backside was required. In the upstairs master bath we opted to do a big walk in shower instead of a soaking tub. The trade off was not having a big pretty window that looked out to the woodsy backyard. The other trade off we didn’t think about was how that window filled a big spot when looking at the backside of the house. Drat. We thought about putting a big clock up there to fill the space and give a little “baby got back” appeal but after staring at it long enough I’ve decided I like this baby’s back just the way it is.
