An open staircase is something Ben and I wanted in the new house vs. a half wall. It was put in on July 3 and helped give us a feel of how the Gathering Room will look. We like it a lot but do wonder how it will look with the wood floor we selected. Let’s hope it feels more like a stairway to heaven than the alternative.
